What is an A record?

To point your site, you need to create an A type record.

This type of record is ideal for pointing a domain name (or a subdomain) to a server using a static IP address (i.e., one that does not change).

To point to an IPv6 address, you will need to use an AAAA type record.

This type of record, as well as AAAA, is the most common method for redirecting your domain name to the IP address of the web server hosting your website.
