Install Windows on a VPS

Prerequisites​

  • A VPS from the SSD NVMe or Game range
  • An active HostMyServers client account

Installation procedure​

1. Initial preparation​

  1. Log in to your HostMyServers client area
  2. Select the VPS concerned in your service list
  3. Access the VPS management panel

2. Operating system installation​

  1. In the management panel, on first connection, you must select the operating system you want to install.
  2. Select "Windows" as the operating system
  3. Choose the desired Windows version

  1. Click the "Install" button at the bottom of the page
  2. Wait during installation (approximately 10-15 minutes)

3. Configuration via VNC​

  1. Once installation is complete, access the management interface
  2. Locate the VNC icon (terminal symbol) and click on it

  1. In the VNC console that opens:
    • Follow the Windows configuration wizard
    • Configure basic settings according to your needs
    • Complete the initial configuration

4. Recovering credentials​

  1. Check your email associated with your HostMyServers account
  2. Locate the email containing your Windows credentials
  3. Keep this information in a safe place

Security tips​

  • Change the administrator password on your first connection
  • Enable Windows Firewall
  • Configure automatic updates
  • Install antivirus software
