Renew your Windows license

When creating your Windows instance, it is configured with a trial version license.
You can activate a permanent license at any time using a valid key purchased from an official Microsoft reseller.

Extend your trial period​

If you notice any of the following symptoms:

  • License expiration message
  • Daily automatic shutdowns
  • Windows notifications asking you to activate your license

Here is the procedure to follow:

  1. Connect to your Windows server via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)
  2. Open PowerShell or Command Prompt (CMD) in administrator mode:
    • Right-click on the Windows icon
    • Select "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" or "Command Prompt (Admin)"
  3. Execute the following command: 
    slmgr -rearm
  4. Restart your Windows server to apply the changes

Note: This manipulation can be performed up to 3 times, allowing you to extend the trial period up to 90 days in total.

Permanent activation​

For uninterrupted use, we recommend purchasing an appropriate Windows license from an authorized Microsoft reseller.
